Agatha Christie
Agatha Christie (15. rujna 1890. – 12. siječnja 1976.) bila je britanska spisateljica, najpoznatija kao "kraljica krimića". Rođena u Torquayu, Engleska, napisala je preko 80 romana, drama i zbirki priča, a njezina su djela prevedena na više od 100 jezika, čineći je jednom od najprodavanijih autorica svih vremena.
Njezin prvi roman, Tajanstveni događaj u Stylesu (1920), predstavio je slavnog detektiva Herculea Poirota, koji će postati jedan od najpoznatijih likova detektivske fikcije. Drugi poznati lik kojeg je stvorila je gospođica Marple, mudra i pronicljiva starica iz sela.
Među njezinim najpoznatijim djelima su Ubojstvo u Orient Expressu, Deset malih crnaca (kasnije poznato kao I ne osta nijedan) i Smrt na Nilu. Njezini zapleti su poznati po zamršenim misterijima, iznenađujućim obratima i logičkom zaključivanju.
Christie je također autorica najdugovječnije kazališne predstave u povijesti, Mišolovke, koja se u Londonu izvodi neprekidno od 1952.
Tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata radila je kao apotekarka, što joj je pomoglo u realističnom prikazu otrova u njezinim romanima. Njezina djela i danas su izuzetno popularna, a brojna su adaptirana u filmove i serije.
