Edgar Rice Burroughs
Američki pisac (Chicago, 1. IX. 1875 – Encino, California, 19. III. 1950), autor niza pustolovnih romana o Tarzanu, sinu engleskog plemića odraslom u afričkoj prašumi, od kojih je prvi Tarzan među majmunima (Tarzan of the Apes, 1914). Velik uspjeh učinio je Tarzana jednim od najpoznatijih likova svjetske popularne kulture XX. st. (prijevod na više od 50 jezika, adaptacije za strip, film, radio i televiziju).
