Time

The debut album "Time" of the Yugoslav rock band of the same name was released in 1973 for PGP RTB. It represents an absolute masterpiece of progressive rock led by Dad Topić.

The debut studio album by the legendary Yugoslav band Time, simply called Time, was released in 1973 by the record company PGP RTB. This release is rightly considered one of the most important, most influential and musically mature achievements in the history of domestic rock music, laying the foundations of progressive and symphonic rock in this region.

The album was recorded with a top-notch lineup consisting of exceptional musicians: singer and songwriter Dado Topić, keyboardist Tihomir Pop Asanović, guitarist Vedran Božić, bassist Mario Mavrin, drummer Ratko Divjak and flautist/saxophonist Branko Kruh. Through a blend of elements of rock, blues, jazz and folk, the group created a unique, layered and worldly sound. The album features five long, epic compositions that defined the era, including anthological songs such as the monumental "Za koji život treba mi to", "Pjesma No. 3", "Kralj alkohol", "Istina mašina" and the title track "Time".

With its virtuoso playing, poetic and profound lyrics, and Dada Topić's incredible vocal performance, this album immediately delighted both the audience and critics upon its release. As a result, it still enjoys the status of a mythical release that represents not only the pinnacle of the band's career, but also a lasting monument to the golden age of Yugoslav rock creativity.
