Naples, the year of the Lord 1229. The trail of death left behind by a horseman with an unusual weapon leads the inquisitor Konrad von Marburg to the investigation of the Luciferian sect dedicated to the ancient star cult.
Suger de Petit-Pont, a magister medicinae expelled from the University of Paris, is involved in an investigation against his will when his activities catch the eye of the inquisitor - and he's not the only one. Ignazio from Toledo arrived in Naples on business, but he too attracted the interest of the suspicious inquisitor. The relic dealer soon finds himself in the hands of the investigators, and he is blamed for the actions of the murderer and the Luciferian sect. It will not be easy to find a way out of trouble and prove his own innocence: for that he will have to travel to the very south of Italy, to the court of miracles of Frederick II.
