Kinez na biciklu

Kinez na biciklu

Ariel Magnus

"The Chinese Man on a Bicycle" is a humorous novel that takes the reader through the strange world of Chinatown in Buenos Aires.

The whole city is looking for the mysterious arsonist Match, who, after his crimes, or so they say, usually escapes on a bicycle. Li fits the stereotype perfectly – and therefore he is arrested.

But at the trial, he kidnaps and takes computer expert Ramiro hostage, takes him to Chinatown, and gradually a friendship develops between them.

The young Argentine writer Ariel Magnus describes in detail the birth of Stockholm syndrome, and Ramiro increasingly discovers the charms of the Chinese world, where everything is upside down: his kidnapper persuades him to participate in a theft with him, his mistress only wants to sleep in the open, and Ramiro himself begins to consider the Chinese people his family, while his mother becomes a complete stranger to him.
