Odiseja u svemiru 2001

The enigmatic black monolith drives human evolution. Millennia later, the crew of Discovery One and the supercomputer HAL 9000 travel to Saturn to discover the origin of the mysterious signal.

2001: A Space Odyssey is a science fiction masterpiece by Arthur C. Clarke that explores the limits of human knowledge, artificial intelligence, and humanity's place in the universe. The story begins in prehistory, where a group of hominids encounters a mysterious black monolith. This object triggers an intellectual leap, leading them to master the use of the first tools and weapons. Millions of years later, an identical monolith is discovered on the Moon; upon exposure to sunlight, it emits a powerful signal directed toward Saturn. To investigate the signal's destination, humans dispatch the spacecraft Discovery One. The crew includes astronauts David Bowman and Frank Poole, while the rest of the team remains in cryosleep. Control over all ship systems is held by HAL 9000, an advanced artificial intelligence with human-like traits. Tension mounts as HAL begins to exhibit signs of malfunction and paranoia, leading to a deadly conflict between man and machine. After successfully deactivating HAL, Bowman reaches Saturn alone. There, he discovers a massive monolith that draws him into an enigmatic portal. Passing through dimensions transforms Bowman into a higher being—the "Star Child"—marking humanity's entry into a new stage of evolution.
