Zagor LU #272: Mučna osveta
Following the destruction of his cabin, Zagor uncovers Mortimer’s return: his enemy is targeting Zagor’s friends, turning personal loyalty into a weapon of revenge.
Mučna osveta continues Zagor’s return to Darkwood, where a destroyed home replaces the prospect of rest. The trail leads towards Pleasant Point and an old friend’s cabin. There he realises that the destruction is only the beginning of Mortimer’s plan.
His enemy intends to strike beyond Zagor himself. By threatening his friends, Mortimer forces him into a desperate search in which every delay may carry terrible consequences.
Burattini develops a psychological thriller about revenge inflicted through loved ones. Mortimer exploits his knowledge of his opponent: Zagor’s loyalty becomes a means of controlling his actions. The hero must master his anger and protect those at risk rather than simply react to provocation.
Marco Verni’s expressive faces, threatening imagery and forceful action emphasise the personal weight of the conflict. Familiar Darkwood becomes a place of uncertainty, while each clue carries a message from an enemy determined to make his presence known.
This is the second chapter of the storyline spanning Ludens #271–274, begun in Na povratku kući. It continues in Požar na Golden Baby and concludes in Mortimer: Zadnji čin.
