Čovjek koji je kupovao kuću

Čovjek koji je kupovao kuću

Jozefina Dautbegović

During the nineties, Josefina Dautbegović established herself with her collections as one of the key authors of recent Croatian poetry.

Most of her stories have an unexpected twist with a successful dose of natural humor that covers heightened emotions. The special quality of these stories is the very skillful and convincing dialogues, so that each event seems lived, and the reader recognizes the characters or the event as an authentic experience. Individual stories from this collection have already been recognized by the literary public for their high narrative reach: the story "Vacation" was awarded the Večernji list award for a short story in 1996, and in 2002 the author received the Ranko Marinković award for the story "The Man Who Bought a House" , after which this book is titled.
