Zagor LU #136: Kukci ubojice

In Kukci ubojice, terrifying attacks shatter the peaceful life of St. Clair Valley. Locusts destroy crops, termites threaten homes, and scorpions become a deadly danger to the inhabitants. Different species display an alarming degree of aggression and coordination, turning ordinary farming life into a struggle for survival.

Zagor investigates the origin of the infestation and searches for a way to stop it. His enquiries lead towards Fort Jericho and Professor Verybad, an old acquaintance whose inventions have caused trouble before. What initially resembles a natural disaster gradually suggests human intervention, raising questions about scientific research conducted under military protection.

Moreno Burattini combines frontier adventure, science fiction and insect horror. Rather than confronting a single opponent, Zagor faces countless tiny attackers that are difficult to evade or fight. Familiar surroundings become hostile, and protecting innocent people depends on discovering the source of the danger.

Illustrated by Gaetano Cassaro, this issue opens a two-part adventure concluded in Ludens #137, Stroj smrti. It establishes the mystery and takes Zagor towards the disturbing forces behind the attacks.
