Odiseja: Odisejeve pustolovine
Stelio Martelli
A retelling, shortened, simplified, and adapted for children of Homer's epic poem "The Odyssey." After ten years of war at Troy, many Greek soldiers and generals wandered and disappeared.
In this book, through 24 illustrated stories, Odysseus' adventurous journey by sea, full of dangers and difficulties, and his return to his native Ithaca are described.
The title story, "The Little Hero," is about a boy who shows courage and awareness in difficult wartime circumstances – a typical example of literature that celebrates moral virtues and resistance during wartime.
Neglecting the cultures of small nations, the world remained deprived, impoverished: the eyes, mind, experience and heart were deprived of a view of a crowded wheat field where red poppies peek out between yellow ears of corn.
