Yasmin Khan, a nineteen-year-old shepherdess from the village of Singur near the city of Chitral in northwestern Pakistan, who knows the Koran by heart, is forced to flee her homeland, which she has never left before, due to a mountaineering tragedy on Tirich Mir, the highest mountain peak in her homeland, and the threat of death on charges of being a witch. Driven by the search for security, by an incredible game of chance, Yasmin chooses Denmark, for her the country of the happiest people in the world, which a few days before the escape she had never even heard of. Yasmin meets Christian, in whom she finds the love of her life, which will become fatal for both of them.
