Roman Elvisa Bošnjaka Gdje je nestao Kir sastoji se od dvije pripovjedne linije koje naizmjence prate žrtvu i ubojicu. Pripovijedanje o žrtvi, Josipu Kiru, ide prema trenutku ubojstva, opisuje njegove zadnje dane i sate, dok ubojicu Marka Šutala pratimo od čina ubojstva, kroz faze bijega. Čitamo roman usisani u dva tunela koja se u jednom trenu kobno sastaju, e da bi se… opet sastali?

Portretirajući i kontrastirajući dva potpuno drugačija lika, njihove misije i logike, i skicirajući likove iz njihova neposredna okoliša, autor pripovijeda o vremenu početka rata u Slavoniji, i potiče da se svatko zapita što se zapravo dogodilo, jer značenja izmiču, sve do danas, premda je nesumnjivo da je ubojstvo iz zasjede, pogotovo policijskog načelnika na zadatku, dobro organizirani zločin.
