John Brunner je jedan od najplodnih britanskih autora SF-a. U romanu “Dela vremena” (1967) koristi se mješavinom različitih žanrovskih postupaka.

Početak romana je obilježen odrednicama kriminalističke priče s elementima horora. SF motive KRONOMOCIJE autor uvodi, tek u raspletu romana. Radnja prati grupu emocionalno nestabilnih umjetnika skupljenu oko ambicioznog kazališnog projekta. Fabula romana prikazuje niz neobjašnjivih događaja, a neočekivani rasplet uvodi u igru KRADLJIVACA EMOCIJA IZ BUDUĆNOSTI.
