Claudio Nizzi

Claudio Nizzi (born 1938 in Siena) is one of the most prolific and influential Italian comic writers, especially known for his work on the Tex Willer series, where he left a deep mark as the successor to Gianluigi Bonelli. His narrative shaped an entire generation of Western fans.

He began working in comics in 1963, and in 1969 he joined the publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore. Initially, he wrote for series such as "Alan Mistero" and "Larry Yuma", but he gained wider popularity with the series Nick Raider, the first real crime comic from the Bonelli house, of which he was the creator and main writer.

His career reached its peak when in 1981 he began writing for Tex, taking on a key role in the development of the series after the death of Bonelli Sr. His stories are characterized by a classic Western setting, strong moral themes and a solid narrative, and he is responsible for a series of iconic episodes that are still considered the series' highlights today. He also introduced numerous new characters, further enriching Tex's world.

Nizzi is a master of simple but effective prose, with a clear structure and a strong sense of storytelling rhythm. His contribution to Italian comics remains invaluable.
