Mauro Boselli
Mauro Boselli (born 1953 in Milan) is an Italian screenwriter, editor and one of the most important contemporary authors in the world of comics, particularly known for his work on the Tex Willer and Zagor series. He graduated in literature and began working professionally in comics in 1984, when he joined the publishing house Sergio Bonelli Editore.
He initially collaborated on a series of scripts for various series, but his real success came as a screenwriter and later editor of Zagor, where he introduced a more modern, deeper and more serious approach to the story and characterisation. His stories often explore themes of friendship, courage, justice and human nature, contributing significantly to the renewal of interest in this classic hero.
In 2011, he took over the role of editor-in-chief of the Tex Willer series, bringing new narrative momentum and introducing the spin-off series Tex Willer – Young Tex, which depicts the early years of the famous gunslinger. Boselli is also the author of the comic series Dampyr, a dark horror-action series that combines folklore, history, and fantasy, and was adapted into a film in 2022.
He is known for his deep knowledge of genres and his ability to write long, layered narratives with rich atmosphere and strong characters. His work has made him a key figure in modern Italian comics.
