Vinko Zlamalik
Croatian art historian (Gradačac, Bosnia and Herzegovina, December 21, 1923 – Zagreb, January 22, 1991), graduated in 1953 from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, where he received his doctorate in 1984 on the subject of Bela Čikoš-Sesija. He worked at JAZ (now HAZ), first in the Cabinet for Numismatics and Medals (1953–58), then in Strossmayer's Gallery of Old Masters of HAZ, where he was the director from 1964. One of the founders of the Society of Croatian Art Historians (1954) and editor of the society's publication, the anthology Peristil (1971–90). He researched old masters, modern Croatian art, Art Nouveau and symbolism, and medalist creativity; was the first to publish a historical overview of Croatian medalists. He is the author of catalogs and exhibitions of medalists, old masters and modern Croatian artists (Lj. Babić, J. Miše) and important donations (J. J. Strossmayer, A. Topić-Mimara, J. Kovačić).

Strossmayerova galerija starih majstora nosi ime njezina osnivača i utemeljitelja, biskupa Josipa Jurja Strossmayera. Smještena je u zgradi Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti u Zagrebu.
