Yashim Abdullayev

Yashim Abdullayev (1928–2009) was a distinguished Azerbaijani painter and professor, known as one of the most important representatives of modern art in Azerbaijan. Born in Baku, he studied at the Azerbaijan State Art Institute and later became a member of the Academy of Arts. His work is marked by a strong national identity, combining traditional Azerbaijani motifs with modernist techniques.

Abdullayev was known for landscapes, portraits and scenes from everyday life, using rich colors and dynamic compositions to highlight the cultural heritage of his people. He participated in numerous exhibitions, both in his homeland and abroad, and received many awards, including state awards. His contribution to art education was significant, as he taught generations of young artists. Abdullayev's works are now part of prestigious museums and private collections around the world.

Sirius was a Croatian science fiction magazine. The foundation was proposed by Damir Mikuličić in 1976. In Sirius, the works of domestic authors, as well as translations of foreign SF authors, were published. It was published from 1976 to 1989.
