On the Back of a Dolphin is a collection of short stories for children by Croatian writer Slavko Kolar. It consists of seven short stories: In the Wolf's Pit, The Little Horse, The Unusual Rabbit, The Patient Fabian, The Cat and Nebojša, The Chase on a Motorcycle and On the Back of a Dolphin. In them, the author depicts a children's world filled with adventures, humor, imagination and everyday challenges.

The main characters are most often children who, driven by curiosity and a desire to explore, find themselves in unusual situations. Animals often appear alongside them, playing an important role in the plot and contributing to the cheerful and entertaining atmosphere of the stories. Through their adventures, Kolar portrays values ​​such as friendship, courage, perseverance, honesty and resourcefulness.

The short stories are written in simple and accessible language, and are characterized by lively humor and interesting storytelling. The author successfully evokes a child's view of the world, in which even ordinary events can become a great adventure.
