Dosije Snouden

Dosije Snouden

Luke Harding

The inside story of the most wanted fugitive in the world.

The first article was published in June last year. In a text that was promptly reported by the media around the world, it was revealed that the American telecommunications company Verizon is secretly giving away information about its users. A few days later, the person who disclosed the data decided to reveal his identity and the public learned that 29-year-old Edward Snowden was behind the biggest leak of intelligence data in American and British history. A leak that confirmed the existence of a mass surveillance program, backed by the most powerful intelligence organizations in the world, with the blessing of American and British political leaders and in cooperation with some of the world's largest corporations.

The recording of the interview with Snowden became the most viewed piece of journalism in the history of The Guardian.

In the days that followed, thanks to information from the very heart of American power, many things came to light, including the fact that not only the politicians of the allied countries are being monitored, but also the so-called ordinary citizens, and that the data obtained from the monitoring of billions of private emails, text messages, and telephone conversations make it possible to create a dossier on the most intimate spheres of their lives at any time: friends, lovers, sorrows and joys, data ideal for abuse and manipulation.
