Gabrielov dar
The hero of this novel by Hanif Kureishi is Gabriel, a fifteen-year-old boy from North London who has to find his way in a new life after the departure of his father upsets the balance of his family home.
Trying to fend for himself and provide emotional support to his confused (and confusing) parents, Gabriel is forced to grow up fast. In doing so, the only support he has is the memory of his twin brother Archie and a gift accompanied by feelings that drive him into areas of life that require extraordinary courage and faith. A chance visit with Lester Jones, a seventies rock star, crystallizes Gabriel's turbulent feelings and helps him recognize and use his gift.
