Asmodejev šal

Asmodejev šal

Ivan Aralica

A novel about a fatal woman named Niža from the Bosnian town of Kupres sometime around the end of the 17th century.

Niža is both a virgin and a harlot, a faithful wife and an adulteress, an angel and a devil. This is a portrait of a lady who, by doing evil to others, did evil to herself. Traveling merchant Martin Grabovac had to check if the beautiful Niža was cheating on her husband Anđelko Plavša, so he received two scarves from him: he would leave both to the unfaithful Niža, and only one to the faithful one. Asmodeus' scarf is a game of love and fate.
