Hamlet

Hamlet

William Shakespeare

Hamlet is Shakespeare's most famous play in world literature.

The fundamental problem of tragedy is the protagonist's reluctance to act in a situation that is quite clear. Literary theorists, philosophers and psychologists have been breaking spears over this for centuries. The main idea of Hamlet is the story of the Danish king Hamlet who seeks revenge against his uncle who killed his father and married his mother and took the throne. In order to succeed in his intention, he pretends to be crazy.
