The plot begins when a young Englishwoman, Helen, is kidnapped during an expedition in Africa. Tarzan, accidentally discovering tracks of human leopards, joins the search to rescue her. Meanwhile, the African Korak, Tarzan's son, also participates in the investigation and fight against the evil cult. Through intrigue, capture and escape, the story depicts a tense struggle between good and evil, savagery and civilization.
The novel explores themes of identity, morality and natural justice, as Tarzan uses his strength, intelligence and connection to nature to expose and destroy this dangerous sect. The end brings the liberation of the captives and the restoration of order, and Tarzan once again asserts himself as a moral authority and protector of the weak.
