Bakonja fra Brne is a novel published in 1892 by Simo Matavulj. The plot is set in Dalmatinska Zagora around 1870, and the title character is a young man who, following the family tradition, becomes one of the Franciscan monks in the Visovac monastery.
A collection of six short stories that explore the moral, social, and political themes of postwar Germany, marked by Böll's sharp critical eye and empathy for the common man. An afterword by Viktor Žmegač contextualizes the works within Böll's oeuvre.
