The original author's work of the doyen of Croatian literature and culture, built on the basis of long-term research, presents the historical development of medal making in Croatia, where the phenomenon of the medal itself is theoretically interpreted.
At its First General Assembly in 1879, the Society of Arts from Zagreb considered a proposal to organize an "arts and crafts" exhibition, and the very next year, in 1880, the Museum of Arts and Crafts was founded.
This exhibition spans the period from Pre-Romanesque to Baroque and features art of various types, including goldsmithing, textiles, painting and sculpture.
