Mladi gospodin / Prosjak Luka

Mladi gospodin / Prosjak Luka

August Šenoa
Šenoa

Young gentleman: August Šenoa describes the chaplain Janko Lugarić, whose real name was Janko Puškarić (1801-1874), and he was a chaplain until his death in various parishes in Hrvatski Zagorje, Pokuplje and Turopolje.

The social-psychological short story Prosjak Luka is an interesting work full of moral questions and deep human emotions. The main question that runs through the entire work is What makes a man a man?. During his life, the beggar Luka certainly felt, but never like a man.
