Based on the certain fact that Bolívar sponsored the spread of the Brief Rebellion directed by Lope de Aguirre to King Philip II of Spain, Otero Silva presented the unusual Spanish conqueror, the rebel against his monarch, as a fiery and prophetic figure who heralds the destiny of the liberators and is at the very root of the foundations of the Indian independence movement.
