Man was not always a builder. When he depended on hunting for survival, he was a nomad content with caves or temporary shelter in the forest. Then, however, some nine or ten thousand years ago, he discovered the secrets of farming. For the first time, he could indulge in the pleasures of a permanent residence, and at that moment architecture was born.
