Plodovi gneva

Plodovi gneva

John Steinbeck

The novel takes place during the mass migration of farmers from Oklahoma and neighboring states to the fertile valleys of California in search of work and land.

After the banks and landowners forced them off their property, and the drought destroyed their crops. Among them is the Joad family: Ma Joad, Father, his brother, grandparents and six children – three grown sons, one of whom is the main protagonist Tom, and daughter Rose of Sharon. Tom's friend Jim Casy joins them. However, in California it is just as difficult for newcomers: there is no work, when there is, wages are miserable, and newcomers are anything but welcome...
