Medicina rada i okoliša

Medicina rada i okoliša

Marko Šarić, Eugenija Žuškin

In connection with technological progress, significant changes are taking place with regard to the risks to which workers are exposed. At the same time, new, more complete knowledge is being gathered in the objectification of risks, assessment of exposure

The importance of the environment and the conditions in which people live and the possible impact of environmental pollution on health have been systematically examined and evaluated. The book deals with both of the mentioned aspects, starting from the modern approach of total exposure, i.e. the risks associated with the work that a person performs, and those that appear in the living environment. It starts from describing, defining and detecting possible risks, routes of exposure, introduction of harmful substances into the body, biological effects, their control, and up to risk management, i.e. prevention and protection measures. The book also contains a list of all occupational diseases, legal provisions, and limit values for air, water, food and ionizing radiation pollution. The book is intended for experts in occupational medicine and health ecology, as well as those who are studying and training for work in these fields (postgraduate study and specialization), but also for the general public, and for groups and associations of citizens active in this field.
