Neither their first love, nor different schools, nor the fact that one of them ran away from training to the gypsy lines, nor military service, nor the first multi-party elections, which were held in April for one, and for the other in April, separated them. And then came the dark nineties. Burnt houses, lines of battlefields, collapsed bridges, innocent memories and a bright future that neither one nor the other could count on in the blaze of their former life were overgrown in the tall grass. Their paths will meet again in Newbridge in the Republic of Ireland, where the tall grass is seemingly greener, but even there they will be overtaken by a series of unexpected twists and trials - from the seductive gypsy world of Irish travelers, through easy but dirty money, sex that has its price, to robberies and crime that could either separate them once and for all or bring them together on the right side of life.
