This book includes all Slavonic cities with basic indications of their historical development and briefly described more important interesting points in the field of architecture and art. More prominent persons biographically connected with them were also touched upon, and more interesting architectural monuments in villages or outside the settlement were not forgotten either (such as the medieval church of St. Bartolo in Novi Mikanovci or the monastery of St. Nikola near Orahovica).

A special area is dedicated to valuable natural entities such as Kopački rit, Lonjsko polje or certain parts of the Slavonski Highlands (Jankovac on Papuk, Muški Bunar on Psunj, Sovsko jezero on Diljgora).
