Za novim putem: novele
"Za novi putem" is a collection of novels by Augusto Cesarco, originally published in 1919. This work is characteristic of his early creative period, marked by modernist aspirations and social sensitivity.
In this collection, Cesarec explores themes of social injustice, human suffering, inner conflict, and revolutionary longing, often using an expressive style and psychological analysis.
Through his characters, Cesarec often portrays marginalized members of society, workers, the poor and oppressed, and their struggle for dignity and justice. The title of the collection symbolizes the search for a new social and personal path - for freedom, justice and a more humane world.
Cesarec enters the inner world of his protagonists, showing their dilemmas, fears and dreams. The author uses powerful images and intense emotions to convey the troubled state of mind in the post-World War I period.
Cesarec combines literary innovation with strong social engagement, which makes the collection important in the context of Croatian literature from the beginning of the 20th century. The author offers a critique of society, but also a universal message about the human aspiration for freedom and justice.
