The story follows Laura Townsend, a young woman whose life changes drastically after an accident that left lasting effects on her ability to speak and express herself.

Isaac is initially skeptical of Laura due to her communication difficulties, but soon realizes her warmth, intelligence and dedication. As their friendship grows into something deeper, Isaac and Laura face their own fears and insecurities, building a love relationship based on trust, understanding and courage.
