1975. Only a few minutes old, a baby was forcibly taken from its devastated mother. 2010. The body of an elderly woman was found in a Dublin park in the middle of winter. Crucified and brutally defiled.
The case is taken over by the striking Inspector Tom Reynolds. Soon the identity of the victim is revealed - it is the venerable Mother Attracta, the manager of the monastery where the infamous Magdalene Laundry operated a long time ago. The inspector goes there with his best team to investigate people and events that could be connected to the murder. But what secrets does the idyllic Irish town and monastery that has seemingly freed itself from its turbulent past hide? As the investigation progresses, dark secrets surface and it seems that no one is innocent. The inspector is pervaded by an ominous premonition that Reverend Attracta will not be the only victim, and when the local priest is killed in front of the police, it is clear to everyone that this is a revenge mission and that they are dealing with a very clever killer...
