Gospođica Chambon

Gospođica Chambon

Éric Holder

Miss Chambon is the story of the meeting of Antonio, a Portuguese mason, and Véronique Chambon, his son's teacher. Antonio and Véronique love and want each other, but in silence and in their thoughts. They see each other, talk, but do not mention the feel

Antonio and Véronique are very different: the little Portuguese mason is a hired laborer with rough hands whose world is reduced to the work he performs on construction sites; Véronique, on the other hand, incarnates knowledge, scholarship and sensibility: her world consists of books, solitude and classical music. But this very difference brings them closer: Véronique is seduced by the strength and firmness that Antonio radiates, while Antonio is attracted by the sensitive world of new emotions and feelings that Véronique opens up to him...

Éric Holder's literary expression is extremely demanding in its simplicity, conciseness and precision, but at the same time his works are readable and emotionally lavish, which is certainly the most important reason for his popularity among readers.
