Družina sinjega galeba

Družina sinjega galeba

Tone Seliškar

The novel is set around the main character Ivo, who, with his crew, solves all the puzzles and obstacles that come their way.

Ivo is a boy who stands out from other children with his intelligence, hard work and upbringing. He grows up alone, without a father and mother, he takes care of the very old house he lives in, and eventually the boat his father left him. Over time, his friends come to his aid: Mihael, Petar, Franjo, Pero, Jure and Mileva. They all take care of the boat Sinji galeb and together they form a crew of which Ivo is the captain. Their goal was to prove to the old fishermen that they were old enough and skilled enough to take care of the boat themselves, and they were most committed to friendship, equality and working in the community. They wanted to prove to everyone that it is better to work in the community than for themselves. It was Ivo's father, a Brazilian, who first came up with this idea in that village. He believed that everyone would earn more and succeed if they invested in the same thing and thus expanded their business. Unfortunately, this idea was not realized during his time, but it was remembered.
