100 hrvatskih haiku: Antologija za igru Haiku karte

Višnja Mcmaster

Using her many years of experience working with the youngest age groups in the field of haiku poetry, the editor wanted to bring this Far Eastern poetic form closer to a wider circle of young people with the book.

Analogous to a traditional Japanese haiku game ("collection of a hundred poets"), Višnja McMaster has compiled an anthology of one hundred Croatian haiku for our version of the game (Croatian "haiku cards"). It is curious that the one hundred authors gathered range in age from eight (for example, the girl Jozefina Gerlach) to as old as ninety-five, the age of literary classic Dragutin Tadijanović. Thus, the collection is a valuable contribution to work with all ages in haiku workshops. The verses are printed side by side in Croatian and English, along with 10 practical and indispensable rules for creating haiku poetry by our most famous haiku artist, Vladimir Devide.
