​The novel The Endless Journey by Beth Revis is the first part of a science fiction trilogy for young adults of the same name. It was published in 2011 and combines elements of thriller, dystopia, and love story.

The plot follows seventeen-year-old Amy, who, along with her parents, agrees to be cryogenically frozen in order to travel on the spaceship Godspeed to a new planet, Centauri-Earth. The journey is supposed to last 300 years, but Amy is awakened 50 years before her scheduled arrival due to sabotage that could have resulted in her death.​

Upon awakening, Amy is confronted with an unfamiliar and closed society on board the ship, led by the authoritarian Great Elder and his young successor, the Little Elder. The ship's community is isolated, susceptible to manipulation, and harbors numerous secrets. Together, Amy and the Elder try to discover who is behind the attempted assassination of her and uncover the dark secrets of Godspeed.

The story explores themes of identity, control, free will, and moral dilemmas within a closed system. The novel raises questions about the nature of truth, power, and human resilience in extreme conditions.​
