Am Vorabend der Kubakrise geraten amerikanische und französische Geheimdienstagenten in ein Labyrinth aus Intrigen des Kalten Krieges. 1962 deckten der französische Geheimdienstchef André Devereaux und der NATO-Geheimdienstchef Michael Nordstrom in Paris sowjetische Pläne auf, Atomwaffen nach Kuba zu liefern. Doch als Devereaux seine Erkenntnisse mitteilt und niemand etwas unternimmt – und er zum Ziel eines Attentats wird – wird ihm schnell klar, dass er in eine Verschwörung verwickelt ist, die weitaus größer ist, als er zunächst vermutet hatte.
