Figures in our folk poetry, (JAZU 1880), is published in a reprint after a full 108 years. This classic work of Croatian philology is the first and to this day the only thorough and reliable systematization of tropes and figures in our country.

With regard to similar works in the more developed philologies of the 19th century, Zima verified the theoretical concepts of tropes and figures on the previously known corpus of our agraphic cultures and on Ivan Mažuranić's Death of Smile-age by Čengić. Even today, figures are an indispensable manual and textbook when studying the artistic and linguistic peculiarities of our language.
