This book is the second in a series of collections of original documents on Partisan and Communist repression and crimes in Croatia in the period from 1944 to 1946. It was prepared by Dr. Vladimir Geiger, a well-known Croatian historian specializing in World War II and the post-war period.

The book contains 187 critically processed and annotated original documents (reports, orders, minutes, letters) from the archives of units and institutions of the NOV and PO of Yugoslavia/Croatia, organs of the KPJ/KPH, and state bodies of the DF/FNR of Yugoslavia and the FD/NR of Croatia. The documents relate exclusively to the area of Slavonia, Srijem and Baranja in the period before and immediately after the end of World War II (liberation of the territory, entry of Partisan forces, establishment of new authorities).

The focus is on the treatment of defeated military and political opponents – members of the NDH forces (Ustasha, Home Guard), collaborators, civilians suspected of collaborating with the occupier, and broader repression of real and potential enemies of the new government. Topics covered include: liquidations without trial, mass shootings, arrests, persecutions, forced labor, the establishment of camps and court trials (military courts, sentences for "war crimes" and "enemies of the people").

The book is equipped with an introductory preface, editor's comments, indexes and additional appendices (photographs, maps). The documents are transcribed faithfully to the original, with notes on the context and verification of authenticity – this is the first critical edition of its kind in this field.

This scholarly work is intended for researchers, historians and all those interested in a revisionist approach to the post-war period in Croatia – based exclusively on partisan-communist sources, without relying on later testimonies of victims.
