Zlatarovo zlato is the first novel by August Šenoa, written in 1871. It is also the first Croatian historical novel, which tells about the history of Zagreb in the sixteenth century (after the Gupceva Peasant's Revolt).
Anka Petričević, also known as Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart, was a Croatian writer and nun. She wrote a number of books.
