The book H. Hentig – Crime, Causes and Conditions (1959) deals with explaining crime through a combination of psychological, social and biological factors. The author emphasizes that crime is not a random act, but the result of a complex interaction of the internal characteristics of the perpetrator and external social circumstances. He pays special attention to the relationship between the individual and the environment and the influence of social conditions such as poverty, family and social conflicts. He concludes that crime can only be understood through an interdisciplinary approach that connects man and society as a whole.
