Revolver

Revolver

The Beatles

The Beatles – Revolver is a licensed Yugoslav release of one of the band's most important albums. The album represents the Beatles' creative peak and a turning point in the development of rock music.

Revolver is the seventh studio album by the British group The Beatles, originally released in 1966, and Jugoton's licensed edition made it possible for the domestic audience to access one of the most influential albums in the history of popular music. This album marks a major artistic turning point for the group, moving away from the classic pop sound of earlier years and entering a period of studio experimentation, psychedelia and more complex arrangements.

The album contains some of the most famous compositions of Beatles, including Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, I'm Only Sleeping, Love You To, Here, There and Everywhere, Yellow Submarine, Good Day Sunshine, And Your Bird Can Sing, For No One, Got to Get You Into My Life and the final Tomorrow Never Knows. The innovative sounds, the use of new studio techniques and bold musical experiments that strongly influenced the development of rock in the late sixties stand out.

The album represents the creative contribution of all four members of the band, with a more pronounced authorial expression of George Harrison, mature Lennon compositions and recognizable McCartney melodies. Revolver is often considered one of the greatest albums of all time due to its originality, production and lasting impact.

Jugoton's release was particularly significant for music lovers in Yugoslavia at the time, as it provided access to world rock classics in the form of quality licensed LP releases. Today, The Beatles – Revolver, published by Jugoton, is a valued collector's item and an important part of the history of domestic discography.
