Double Fantasy

Double Fantasy is an album by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, originally released in 1980, and the Yugoslav licensed edition was released by the Zagreb record label Suzy. It is Lennon's comeback album after a five-year musical hiatus during which he dedicated himself to his family and private life. The album became especially significant because it was released just a few weeks before Lennon's tragic death in December 1980.

Conceived as a dialogue between the two authors, the album alternates songs by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, creating a personal account of their relationship, everyday life and outlook on life. Among Lennon's most famous compositions are (Just Like) Starting Over, Watching the Wheels, Woman, Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy) and Cleanup Time, while Yoko Ono brings songs such as Kiss Kiss Kiss, Give Me Something and Walking on Thin Ice.

Musically, Double Fantasy is a fusion of pop-rock, soft rock and contemporary production from the early 1980s. The album is characterized by warm melodies, emphatic vocals and mature lyrics that speak of love, parenthood, change and new beginnings.

Suzy's release made one of the most important albums of the final period of Lennon's career accessible to the domestic audience. Today, Double Fantasy is appreciated among vinyl collectors, not only for its musical value but also for its historical importance as the last major studio achievement of one of the most influential authors of the 20th century.
