Alone

Alone

Modern Talking

The eighth studio album, "Alone" (1999), established Modern Talking's comeback success. It brought a recognizable pop sound, hits like "You Are Not Alone," and new dance beats at the height of their fame.

Released in 1999, the album “Alone” is the eighth studio album by the cult German duo Modern Talking. After the incredible success of the album “Back for Good” the year before, Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders confirmed with this release that their return to the scene was not just a passing nostalgic trend, but a serious musical continuation that confidently conquered the top of the European charts.

The album relies on the recognizable production formula that made Modern Talking a global phenomenon — crystal-clear synthesizer melodies, infectious dance beats and Thomas Anders’ powerful vocal harmonies. The lead singles, “You Are Not Alone” and “Sexy, Sexy Lover”, became instant classics, fitting perfectly into the dance floors of the late 90s, while the other songs on the album skillfully expand their musical expression while maintaining an authentic “Euro-pop” identity.

Unlike the previous album, which relied heavily on remixes, “Alone” features mostly new original material, proving Bohlen’s ability to create hits even in changing musical trends. This release remains an essential part of their discography, testifying to the duo’s exceptional productivity and creative energy during their second career phase. For all pop music fans, “Alone” is solid proof that the quality of their work has remained unquestioned even decades after the beginning of their career.
