Poruke iz zagrobnog života
The book explores the possibility of life after death through media messages, spiritualist seances, clinical death experiences, voices of the deceased, unusual photographs and other alleged evidence of the afterlife.
Messages from the Afterlife addresses one of humanity’s oldest questions: does life continue after physical death? The book presents numerous accounts and documented cases attempting to demonstrate the possibility of a world beyond our immediate experience. Special attention is given to sensitive mediums who allegedly convey messages from the deceased, to spiritualist séances featuring tables that move, levitate, or answer questions via rapping sounds, and to the testimonies of individuals who have experienced clinical death.
The book also examines so-called voices from the afterlife, unusual photographs allegedly revealing the figures of the deceased, and accounts from individuals who, under hypnosis, describe events from supposed past lives. Numerous examples are accompanied by photographs and other illustrative material; in total, the book contains 310 illustrations.
The question of the authenticity of such phenomena plays a significant role. Alongside cases that researchers found difficult to explain, the text mentions mediums caught engaging in fraud or using tricks. This raises the issue of distinguishing alleged paranormal phenomena from deception, suggestion, and unconscious psychological processes. Schiebeler, a physicist who extensively studied parapsychology, approaches the subject through examples linked to spiritualism and paranormal research. The book is a richly illustrated overview of testimonies and phenomena cited as possible indicators of the survival of human consciousness after death, while constantly raising the question of whether they can truly represent a link between the world of the living and the world of the dead.
