The Path of the Great Farewell is a diary entry by Sacinandana Swami about his pilgrimage to the Himalayas in the fall of 1997. The author, a monk in the Gaudiya-Vaishnava tradition (Hare Krishna movement), comes from a well-to-do German family. In the book, he describes his personal journey of renunciation – a “great farewell” from material values, security and attachments – and the embrace of a deeper spiritual life.
