Hrvatski poslijeratni strip

Veljko Krulčić

The first comics monograph in the former Yugoslavia, published in Pula in 1984, and the publisher was "Istarska Naklada", whose editor-in-chief was Aldo Kliman

The monograph in question is called "Croatian post-war comics", and its print run was, even by the standards of the time, fantastic - five thousand copies.

The monograph does not attempt to hierarchically evaluate the works of Croatian comic artists, but to show the different thematic and stylistic range present in their creations, as well as the development of comics in Croatia.

The author of the monograph is Veljko Krulčić, comics publicist, born in 1962 in Pula. The local Studio for Visual Communications, i.e. designer Armando Debeljuh, was in charge of the art equipment and design of the monograph.
